Soft scoliosis bracing is one of the most effective and least invasive scoliosis treatment options.

Scoliosis Bracing and the Level of Curvature Present
As we covered previously, two to three percent of people living in the United States suffer from scoliosis. Scoliosis is most likely to occur in females eight times more likely than in males. This number is mostly found in the age bracket of 10 to 15 years.
The severity of scoliosis determines what kind of treatment a scoliosis chiropractor will apply. Basically there are three main approaches: observation, surgery, and bracing.
Continuing from our previous list of scoliosis treatment options:
- BRACING: At this stage, scoliosis is moderate and not fully grown. Also, the bones of the patient are still growing. By wearing a brace, the curve caused by scoliosis will be prevented. The good news about braces is that the longer the hours a patient wears it, the greater its effectiveness.
You can check with your scoliosis chiropractor in Arizona if your child can participate in physical activities. If the reply is positive, then the child can remove his or her brace before playing.
Depending on the level of the scoliosis, bracing can be offered in two ways: Full time bracing or night time bracing.
- a) FULL TIME BRACING: Under this recommendation, the only time the brace is not worn is during exercises, bathing, and skin care. Adding it up, it will be observed that the brace is worn between 16 to 23 hours of the day.
- b) NIGHT TIME BRACING: Just like the name implies, this type of brace is worn only at night. The reason why it is so is because of the Way the brace is designed. It is designed in such a way that Wearing it to perform normal activities like Walking, standing, running, and other forms of movement will be difficult. It is expected to be worn for at least 8 hours of the night.
Are Scoliosis Braces Effective?
Various studies have shown that scoliosis bracing prevents scoliosis curvature from getting worse. Apart from rare cases where curvature increases regardless of how long a patient wears a brace, braces most times are effective, especially when they are worn for up to 16 hours in a day.
For any treatment to be effective, you would need to involve a scoliosis chiropractor in Arizona.
